A history of teamwork and partnerships
We have always valued the meaning behind a team philosophy, and strive to build collaborative, long-lasting relationships with partners and clients. Working from a foundation of trust, projects move forward more seamlessly, and people step into their roles as crew leaders.
We’re ready to bring our historical foundation to your construction project.
Ward-Henshaw launched in 1977, when Ron Ward and Tom Henshaw established the firm in Portland, Oregon. Right away, we began specializing in water treatment and storage facilities and structural concrete throughout the Pacific Northwest.
In the early 1980's, Ward-Henshaw saw the reservoir market in Arizona was booming! After securing several jobs there, Tom Henshaw and a portion of the company's crew relocated there and began operating a second branch for Ward-Henshaw. Not only would this work continue for the next several decades, it also allowed the company to pursue work in nearby Southern California throughout the 1990's.
In 2007, just as Tom Henshaw was retiring with 30+ years in the industry, Ward-Henshaw constructed a new office building and warehouse at our headquarters in Canby, Oregon. The expanded facility provided much-needed office space, interior storage for small tools, a maintenance shop, and a 2+ acre site for heavy equipment and material storage. This location near Interstate 5 and Highway 99 provides convenient access to our local projects and our work throughout the Pacific Northwest.
In 2015, Ward-Henshaw was purchased by MHA Resource Company, the locally owned and operated parent company of P&C Construction and Baker York Equipment & Supply. This strategic acquisition allowed Ward-Henshaw to expand our concrete crews while providing our company increased opportunities outside of our established market sectors of water treatment facilities and structural concrete. Pictured here are Ron Ward (left) founding member of Ward-Henshaw and Bruce Heintz (right) of MHA as the "keys are passed" to the next generation of ownership.
With Bruce as President, Ward-Henshaw began expanding our company’s capabilities and offerings in areas such as the structural concrete, concrete tilt up and wood framing market sectors.
In 2019 Ward-Henshaw's total annual revenue exceeded $25 million.
With a strong foundation guiding us into the 21st century, Ward-Henshaw will continue to expand our fields of expertise by pursuing a variety of work including structural wood framing, seismic improvements, concrete tilt-up and specialty installations. We value the importance of the team building philosophy and we strive to build collaborative relationships. We thoroughly enjoy working closely with our clients by providing trust towards a worry-free project.
