Safety

Our Leadership Team considers no phase of operations more important than employee safety. The success of our industry-leading Safety Program relies on extensive employee training through program enhancements such as VIVID Learning, real-time input from members of our Safety Advisory Group, a safety manual available in Spanish, and continuous improvements to each section of our safety policies and protocols. Our current Experience Modification Rating (EMR) is 0.84 for 2021 – one of the best safety numbers in the area for our class of work. And through the diligent efforts of our entire team over the last several years, our annual EMR beginning on October 1, 2021 will improve even further to a projected value of 0.53; an impressive result attributable to our outstanding safety culture and our company-wide commitment to keep every employee safe.

From the very beginning of the COVID-19 infectious disease outbreak in January 2020, Ward-Henshaw has proactively addressed mitigation efforts on our jobsites, educated our employees about best-practices to minimize exposure to and transmission of the virus, and worked in a collaborative manner with all Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ’s) to protect Ward-Henshaw employees, their families, and the local community in the best manner possible. We will continue this diligent effort with a commitment to the overall safety and well-being of the communities in which we work.
